About Us

We Are Hakuna Asana Youth Yoga

Our focus is to create classes that meet our students' needs. Hakuna Asana Youth Yoga is fun, yet grounding. Classes are customized to different age levels to keep each student engaged. Students are encouraged to create stories with their flows to cultivate more creativity and create space for full expression of emotions through movement. We offer a variety of classes to best meet you and your childs needs:

Family Yoga

Previously referred to as "Mommy and Me" this 30-minute class was designed for parents to practice along with their children. A great bonding experience and opportunity to learn and explore with your child! 

Kids Yoga 

This 1-hour yoga class was created specifically to energize and enthuse your little ones. This class will incorporate yoga games as well as fun yoga poses taught along to a story. Each class is created especially for the following age groups:
Age 2-5

Age 6-10. 

Teen Yoga

A 1-hour Vinyasa flow that incorporates sun salutation and hatha yoga poses. The class will raise the heart rate and provide deep stretching to invigorate the muscles and calm the mind. Excellent for athletic youth! 

Trysha Hislop

Trysha Hislop began practicing yoga at the age of 14. She instantly fell in love with the practice and strongly relied on it to assist her with the challenges that arise as a teenager. After college, she took her 200hr Yoga Teacher Training course in order to share the gift of yoga with others. She believes that starting yoga and mindfulness practices at a young age is strongly beneficial to building a child's self-esteem and stress-reduction which will support them throughout their life.

Lauren Van Over

Lauren Van Over has over six years of experience teaching children and has recently discovered a passion for teaching yoga. After stepping away from traditional teaching she studied yoga at a 200hr Yoga Teacher Training at her local studio. She is now blending her two passions; teaching children and practicing yoga. By bringing yoga and mindfulness to our young generations, Miss Lauren knows that we can create many generations of kindness and compassion.

Jessica McCain

Jessica McCain has been working with children for fourteen years. She
started with babysitting, nannying, working as a camp counselor, and
has been teaching preschool for over five years. She has her AA in Child
Development and is working towards her Bachelor’s in Human

Development. Her passion for guiding children on their journey of self-
love and mindfulness shines through her teaching as she influences our

youth with her loving and understanding style of teaching.
